Mark and Mell took over the ownership of Buffalo and Kapishya hot springs in 2000. Mark is the Grandson of the legendary Sir Stewart Gore Brown, who built the enormous English Manor House - Shiwa Ng'andu, in the remote Zambian bush in the early 1920's.

Mark has been doing Safaris into North Luangwa and the Bangweulu for over 20 years. His amiable manner and wealth of knowledge of the flora, fauna and ways of the wild, have earned him a reputation of being one of Zambia's finest Guides.

His parents were the first to take safaris into the wild North Luangwa National Park and Mark continues - still one of only 4 companies allowed into the Park.

Since Mark and Mell have taken over Shiwa Safaris they have made vast imrpovements on the accommodation and catering side of things. Mell prides herself on being able to whip up a fantastic meal in the middle of the bush. Although they will try and be around this is not always guaranteed as operations are split betwen Buffalo camp and Kapishya.

Hope to see you on a safari with us soon!
